Plymouth Woodcraft Folk have made the most of the remaining light/dry weather (well, in and around the showers!)... exploring the Woodcraft Folk Aims and Principles, playing with Lego, learning new games to play outside (We're trying to play 100 different games as part of our #100100s to celebrate 100 years of Woodcraft Folk in 2025), using donated craft materials and more. We particularly enjoyed learning a new way of voting on a proposal - Fist To Five - but we have to say the most exciting thing this month for our Wednesday Swifts and our Friday Foxes, was being able to do a litter pick at the same time as doing a lap of the park.
Victoria Park has a new 'Friends' group set up this year - Victoria Park Community Plymouth - and Plymouth Woodcraft Folk and Snapdragons have both become involved in the group (Thank you Emilia and Laura for becoming committee members for the new group!) The group has signed up to be a CleanUpUK hub, which means members of the public can borrow equipment to do a litter pick in the area. So our Elfins and Pioneers, together with our group leaders, decided to do the first 2 picks for the hub. We had great fun and the children really enjoyed helping to tidy the beautiful space that is Victoria Park.
Our Friday Foxes group also got a very special treat this month - we had a trip to the Theatre Royal to take part in a workshop with the Welsh National Opera. It was lovely to see the children recognise some of the songs and join in enthusiastically!
